| This is a good book to getting started with using
VBA in Access. Although you can design databases without using
VBA, either using macros or getting the wizard to create the code
for you, in order to fully utilise the power of Access, you need
to learn how to use VBA. This book goes through the VBA needed to
create a database, in this case a Whisky Shop. Whilst it doesn't
go into tremendous detail on everything VBA related, it offers
enough to give the reader a good basis. The main shortcoming, I
feel, is that there is limited coverage of internet databases,
although this fault is not limited to this book alone, and is
probably mainly attributable to its age (my copy is dated 1997).
Having said that, it nicely bridges the gap between the beginner's
level books, which often barely mention VBA, and the Developer's
Handbook set. |
