Commercial extrasThere are times when you need Access to do something that it wasn't especially designed for. In order to make your life easier, there are several third party ActiveX controls that add to the functionality of Access. Here I review some of the ones that I have encountered and used: This is a set of calendar controls for use in Access and VB. There are 4 different controls included in this set: Year To View, Month To View, Day To View, and a Date Combo Box. This is essentially a database of UK Addresses that can be searched and the correctly formatted address then used. They also have a US version as well. The advantage of using a third party ActiveX control over a standard 'Common' ActiveX control is that the commercial version is less likely to be overwritten by a new version unless you supply it, whereas the common controls have a multitude of versions, and any different version can cause your application to stop working.
